Future Aspiration

Have you ever heard about future aspirations? Well, this morning three special leaders came to our school to talk to us about our future and careers.

We greeted them with a school waiata and then we had a welcome speech by Andrew Patterson. Andrew Patterson is a radio dj that talks on the radio every morning. He told us some really interesting things about himself.

He then gave it to Jason Sharma to do his speech. Jason Sharma is known as maths teacher at Tamaki College. Jason was talking about how he became a teacher and why he loved it. Jason said that he was really into maths and he studied really hard to become a maths teacher and he reached his goal. He made his parents really proud and also himself.

The next speaker was officer Fareka. Officer Fareka is a policeman. He said that his uncle inspired him to become a police. He told us that if we ever go to college and wants to become a police then we could always go to him and he can show us around the station and also take us for a ride around.

The final speaker was the ex head girl at Epsom College. Her name is Arizona Lega. She was the best speaker to be honest. She was really confident and she told us about her past years in primary and how she’d always get in trouble for talking to much. When she was in intermediate she became school captain and she kept asking the teachers if they were sure if she was school captain because she’d always get in trouble and they said yes. Every teacher told her that her talent was talking. She said that it was suprising news how she was head girl at Epsom and shes now studying to be a journalist.

These three special speakers really helped and inspired me into what I want to be in the future.

Weather

The weather today isn't good to be honest. By the look of it, it’s telling me that sports might be canceled and plans might be delayed.

I was really expecting to play Netball with no rain and just the nice sun shining, but no! It’s pouring a beach right now. Netball doesn't get canceled even though it’s raining.

This weather is only nice because I like the sound of rain. But other then that its looking very damp outside.

Right now the weather has calmed down a little bit and the sun is finally out, hopefully it stays like that until Netball!

This acrostic poem is about one of my friends Jordenne. She’s Samoan and is a year 7.

She is really outgoing and just so funny to hang with. She is really committed to play any sports, but unfortunately she injured herself at Netball.

She’s one of the brainiest year 7’s I know at school. She can be annoying at times but she's an amazing friend. She has an amazing personality! She’s also fast.

All these words describe her! If you want to visit her blog then here is a link to her blog. (http://pesjordennee.blogspot.co.nz/)

WILL.I.AM!

Wil.i.am Visit Room 14 from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Well we had a really important assembly last week and there was a really important visitor coming. Mr Burt never told us who the special visitor was. I was like "Fine Then." So we practiced our Waiata (Song) while we were waiting for the special visitor.

After practicing our Waiata Mr Burt told us who the special visitor was. It was WILL.I.AM! I was like Oh My God!!!!! He is really famous, More famous than Titanium and Stan Walker! I am a really huge fan of WILL.I.AM! I love his songs Power and Scream & Shout!

I couldn't believe this was going to happen. So we were waiting and while we were waiting we watched some funny movies. Mr Burt stopped the second funny movie we watched and he got the micro phone and said WILL.I.AM is here. So I looked back and there he was walking in to the school breeze. Well WILL.I.AM came to give us a really special gift to us.

As he was walking in the hall I couldn't stop staring at him. He looked really cool in his cool clothes. Well he told us about his life first that he grew up with no dad which was really sad :(. He said that his dream was to take care of him mum. He also told us that he is going back to school in September this year to learn about computer science. He grew up in Los Angeles.

Thank you Mr. Hutchings for helping me proofread my work.

Art Alive

This term we are learning about art alive and I was so excited to hear that we are learning about art. I think that art is going to be so much fun and it will get me very interested in it. This week we are learning about Picasso.

Picasso is all about drawing the profile of your face and then drawing the front of the face together. Looking at all the pictures that was done like Picasso, it looked very funny. Everyone in our class got to pick one pop star or a singer and sketch it like Picasso.

I picked Nicki Minaj because she looked a little bit easy to draw. Starting off with the profile was a little hard to do but I was getting use to it. When it was finished it looked a bit weird but I had to stick with it.

Drawing the front was easy for me. Her hair was very straight and it was easy to draw. Finishing off with the eyes it looked funny and weird!

In The Holidays

In the holidays I went over to Mangere for the first time. When I got there I was so excited I ran inside and gave my cousin a really big hug. After that we went outside and painted with my cousin’s Nana. Painting with my cousin's was so hard and then I found out that I made a big mistake. I had accidentally knocked over the paint all over the material! Opps!

When the painting was finished we went to the park. At the park we went on the see-saw first. Going up and down, I was nearly going to spew up, so I told my cousin and we changed to the monkey bars. Swinging on the bars I felt like a monkey trying to get bananas. After a little while my cousin and I went back home.
